After School Program

After School Program (ASP)
Youth Drama

For over 20 years, the Chester Playhouse has been working with young people in the community to put on wonderful shows. Our After School Program (ASP), provides an opportunity for students too young for our Summer Theatre School program to explore the world of acting with a helping hand from our professionals. While learning the art of acting and the craft of theatre, students have the opportunity to experience working solo and as a part of a team and are encouraged to be physical and expressive in their work. First time performers and returning students are welcome.

Each ASP play is written and directed by Cynthia Myers.

“The After School Program actors shine with the joy of discovery and thrive with the storytelling and music.”
-Director/Writer Cynthia Myers

The program is held at the Chester District Elementary School and Chester Area Middle School and runs for a few hours between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the age group.

Registration fees are $125. per student with bursaries available through PRO Kids or the Alexander Flemming Pattillo Memorial Trust. Contact the Playhouse for more information, or complete and forward advance registration to us at the Playhouse. Dvd recordings of the performances will also be available for a cost of $18.00
