Relative Happiness feature film, May 28th 2016 at 7:30 pm
The Chester Playhouse is proud to announce that the feature film Relative Happiness will be playing here Saturday May 28th 2016 at 7:30 pm.
Relative Happiness is the big screen adaptation of Nova Scotian author Lesley Crewe’s novel. Produced by Wreckhouse Productions and directed by Deanne Foley, the film stars Melissa Bergland in her first North American role as Lexie Ivy, a plucky bed-and-breakfast owner who’s misadventures begin when she tries to find a date to her sister’s weddings. The film stars a number of familiar faces such as Aaron Poole, Johnathan Sousa, Molly Dunsworth, Jonathan Torrens, 22 Minutes star Susan Kent and Trailer Park Boys star Robb ‘Ricky’ Wells.
Sydney native writer and columnist Lesley Crewe’s first novel, Relative Happiness, was published by Vagrant Press in 2005 and became a best seller. In 2014, the film adaptation of Relative Happiness was released to rave reviews. The film has won many prestigious awards and nominations, including taking home the Best Picture award from the 2015 Screen Nova Scotia Awards.
