Let’s meet the artists of Saltwater Songs
Catherine MacLellan:
Catherine MacLellan is a JUNO award winner, ECMA songwriter of the year, and has released 7 albums over the past 20 years while touring around the world. She makes her home in her beloved Canadian province of Prince Edward Island/Epekwitk, and much of her music reflects the landscape of the Island. Catherine is dedicated to the craft of songwriting, and her desire for connection is at the heart of her work.
Rachel Beck:
Rachel Beck is an indie pop songwriter whose dreamy vocals wash over you, as the waves lap the shores of her beloved Prince Edward Island. Her ethereal 2020 release, “Stronger Than You Know,” was celebrated as Music PEI’s Album of the Year and nominated for three ECMAs. It followed the soaring success of Beck’s debut single, Reckless Heart, which earned the #1 spot on the national CBC Music Top 20 Chart and was subsequently named one of the Top 100 Canadian Songs of 2018.
Cassie and Maggie:
2018 JUNO nominees, Nova Scotian sisters Cassie and Maggie are putting their own 21st Century stamp on the Celtic soundtrack of this nation. Exciting and innovative, their talent is surpassed only by the sheer joy they exude in performance. Alternating between Gaelic and English, traditional and contemporary, haunting and electrifying, the duo is nothing short of mesmerizing. Cassie and Maggie wowed the crowd at our Re-opening Celebration in August; here is your chance to see them in action once again!
