The Chester Playhouse welcomes newcomers to Canada with the opportunity to enjoy live music, theatre, comedy and more with our Scotiabank Newcomers Program.
Thanks to support from Scotiabank, the Chester Playhouse is offering two unique programs for people who have recently arrived in Canada. The Scotiabank Newcomers Subscription Package offers newcomers the chance to attend Chester Playhouse events for free. The Scotiabank Newcomers Youth Program Scholarship gives youth the opportunity to participate in our summer theatre school programs for free.
Scotiabank Newcomers Subscription Package:
As a subscriber, you will receive 1 (one) free ticket to all events presented by the Chester Playhouse.
How to Apply:
- This program is for newcomers to Canada who have immigrated within the last three years (2020-2023).
- There is no cost to participate.
- An individual may include other members of their family (or household) in their application, so one person can book tickets for the group.
- To apply to this program, complete the online form here: Application Form
- Once approved, you will receive directions for how you can book tickets.
- The program lasts one year but can be renewed.
- Subscribers do not need to attend every event.
- Tickets are for subscriber use only; they may not be given to someone else to use.
- You will be invited to a celebration following each year of the program!

Scotiabank Newcomers Youth Program Scholarship:
By joining this program, you will receive full scholarship to any Chester Playhouse Summer Youth program for youth aged 7-18. Our youth theatre programs run throughout the summer and teach performance skills, build confidence, self-esteem, language skills, and more.
How to Apply:
- This program is for newcomers to Canada who have immigrated within the last three years (2020-2023).
- There is no cost to participate.
- Parents should apply for their children early, as these programs fill up quickly.
- To enroll a child, please complete the online form here: Application Form
- Parents may enroll more than one child. Please complete a separate form for each child.
- Once this form is complete, our team will contact you about registering for a summer youth program.
- This program runs for one year, but can be renewed.
- Scholarships may not be used by anyone other than the registered child.
- Participants will be invited to a celebration following each year of the program!
